Memoirs of the Pharaohs

Sekhmet gave a scared cry of 'Mama' as Jenny took off, leading Sally to reach over and hug her tightly.

Several of the attacking soldiers scattered as Jenny approached, but the leader stood his ground. His sword gleamed in the firelight as he expertly parried each of the fireballs thrown at him.

"What the fuck!" Jenny got angry and that was when she stopped thinking and just threw fireball after fireball, created whirlwind of fire attacking the leader.

The leader leapt off his chariot, moving far faster than a regular human keeping just ahead of the fiery barrage. He spun and threw his sword towards Jenny, aiming to impale her.

Jenny was still annoyed and now even angrier that he not just could deal with her fire balls but also outrun them. And then he dared to throw if fucking sword at her. Who did he think he was? Jenny dived to avoid being cut into half -though it would be interesting if she could heal that as well- she thought she managed tp stay whole when she felt the cold steal cut through her left calf. She screamed and crashed into the sand of the desert. She was surprised when her clothes weren't burned, seemed like those Egyptians knew how to make her fire safe clothes. SHe ripped off her sleeve and tide it around her calf, the sand was drenched in her blood. Now all she had to do was fly back into safety, if she could just turn on her flame again.

The leader advanced slowly towards Jenny. He stretched out his hand and the sword flew across the air, returning to it. The blade started glowing with an eerie, otherworldly purple light.

"There'll be no coming back from the grave this time!" he whispered, though to Jenny it would sound as if his voice was echoing inside her head.

He raised the blade to strike, then there was a whistling noise as another bolt struck him, this time in the hand, almost causing him to drop the sword.

The bolt exploding DID cause him to drop it.

A spark from the explosion was all Jenny needed, with it she turned her flame on as hot as she could not bothered if she would set fire to the atmosphere. She flew back into the city but had no chance to get high enough to get into the watch tower again. She didn't dare to search its windows for two faces she hoped hadn't seen her even though the exploding bolt told her that at least one had watched out for her.

One of her own soldiers came towards her "My Queen-"

"Just shut up, I heal but it still fucking hurts. Who is this freak?" Jenny was pale from the blood loss and for once felt cold, her flame had gone out the moment she was above the streets of the city behind the trench.

"IS MAMA OKAY?" screamed Sekhmet.

"Yes. I saw her take off, so she'll be fine. Now where did that jerk with the sword go?" Sally replied, peering through her scope. "And where's the Khan?"

"He took off to deal with those monsters we saw in the sky!" said Sekhmet.

"Good...wait, did you say HE took off?" asked Sally surprised. She looked up at Sekhmet, who suddenly gave another scream. Sally turned to see the leader climbing onto the top of the watchtower with them.

Jenny heard Sekhmet scream up on the watch tower, she turned around and saw the leader in said watch tower. "You've got to be kidding me! Where the fuck is Kahn. This is really messed up." She looked at her leg, it was badly cut. "Just this once I wish I could manipulate my healing."

Jenny sighed deeply.

"My Queen let me help you." The soldier offered his hand and helped Jenny up. Her standing was wobbly and she was out of ideas. She looked around panicking. When her eyes suddenly saw some odd stays on the ground... "Lamp oil!" Jenny managed to wobbly across the street and picked up the large ceramic bottle. "Can you throw this?"

"Certainly my Queen, where do you want it to go?"

"Up there, NOW!"

The soldier threw, Jenny hit it with a fireball. The lamp oil caused an massive explosion taking half the watch tower down. It took all her strength to wrapped Sally and Sekhmet into a safe huge fire ball and pulled them out of the watch tower. The landing of the two was rather rough and Jenny felt bad about it but it took all her strength to get them out of the tower and next to herself. "This adventure stinks, I have some other words in mind about it but I don't think you approve of me using those in front of our daughter. Any plans?" Jenny was back on the ground breathing heavily.

Sally groaned in pain. As they had fallen she had grabbed Sekhmet and held her away from the ground. It meant Sekhmet was okay, if shaken and crying, but Sally had hit the ground hard, and her leg as at an angle that it wouldn't naturally be at.

"There was strange winged creatures coming from the west. The Khan went to fight them," said the soldier. He looked at Sally. "Shall I call for assistance in getting the Queen to safety?"

A further part of the watchtower collapsed, the part of the rubble moved, the leader of the raiders clambering out of the wreckage. But his skin was starting to peel off. Underneath it looked like chipped stone or burnt bark, and a pair of bat like wings were unfurling behind him.

"You'll have to do better than that!" he hissed.

"Fucking hell he is worse than any cockroach!" Jenny didn't need to touch Sally's leg to know it wasn't right, she didn't dare to look her girlfriend in the eye. "Fine you want better you get better" She got up on her feet still avoiding Sally's eyes and instead of fire she created heat, in a way it was easier and then it wasn't. Just like she done the day before in the desert she created this heat pillar that would melt the stone of the collapsed watch tower. It was turning the stone, solid and not burning into red hot glowing lava. It wasn't easy but she managed to maintain the heat in the area of the watch tower and with it the lava.

The leader grinned mockingly. "You're no where near..." He began to feel the heat building behind him. "...me..." It was hard to tell given his face, but it almost seemed as if a look of fear crossed his face.

"Get the bastard!" hissed Sally as the lava came closer to him. He spread his wings to take off to safety, only to find them buffeted but a barrage of small fireballs from Sekhmet. Unable to escape he screamed as the lava reached him.

Jenny grinned evil, flames dancing in her eyes, in a way it was a relieve to unleash the fire inside of her. "You picked the wrong queen to mess with! Let this be a lesson to everyone considering attacking us, two great Pharaohs."

Jenny knew if she thought about what would happed to the lava the moment she stopped trapping it in the piller of heat she wouldn't be able to keep going, she hoped somebody would have a plan so that no one who didn't deserve it would get killed by the lava, including the two queens and their daughter.

"Good job Sekhmet, keep goign!"

Sekhmet grinned and nodded, keeping the barrage up. The soldiers began to cheer as the leader caught fire from the lava, soon reduced to nothing but ash.

"N-now what?" asked Sally thought the pain.

"I don't know. You said something abot assistance how about getting us higher up?" Jenny looked at teh soldier. They were lucky, lava was very slow in spreadding across the ground.

"I think out of the town is the best course of action now," said the soldier, worried by the advancing lava.

"Can't you stop it Mama?" asked Sekhmet, starting to sound scared. The next moment a roar shook the town, as a shadow passed over them. A large dragon landed heavily on the ground next to them, causing the whole area to shake. It's body was long and serpentine, it's face almost cat-like, but it had four solid legs and broad wings. It appeared like a cross between Western and Eastern dragons.

With another roar it opened it's mouth and a jet of ice shot towards the lava. Steam erupted where it was hit, but the ice was slowly cooling the lava down.

Jenny was about to tell her daughter that she felt to weak to even controle the flame of a candle when the dragon appeared. And then he wasn't any dragon but an ice dragon. Jenny screamed and backed away as far as she could. Water was bad, but ice even worse!

"This beast is better on our side!" She mumbled.

As the lava finally cooled and solidified the dragon snorted and turned to face Jenny. "Of course I'm on your side!" it rumbled, then it's form started to shift, shrinking and becoming more humanoid. Before long the Great Khan was standing on front of them again.

Jenny starred at the Great Kahn with her mouth open and in utter shock. "Well that is at least something. I didn't mean to endager the city, I... er I'm not good with plans and more react than follow them. I didn't think what to do with the lava once it finished the guy off."

Jenny was still on the ground she felt in no condition to stand, she lay back down deciding to just wait right here until her leg was healed. "Hey Sekhmet, are you okay kiddo?" Jenny was quiet for a moment, she was scared to ask but even more to hear the answer. "Sally, you okay?"

There was a slight hint of amusement on the Khan's face at the shocked look on Jenny's. "I wouldn;t worry about the city. We can rebuilt it, and none f us were expecting that... creature. Whatever it was," said the Khan.

"I... I'm fine Mama," Sekhmet said, then burst into tears and hugged Jenny tight. "Are you?" she wailed.

Sally groaned, looking like she was starting to pass out.

"I'm fine. I heal, remember." Jenny tried to sound well less pathetic but she wasn't sure she manged and she knew that she was scary to look at for Sekhmet. Of course did she get the asnwer she feared the most. Very slowly she sat up. "Tell me Sekhmet, your regeneration it just means you can heal yourself not other right?"
 
Jenny looked at Sally and really didn't like what she saw. She felt like ti was her fault since she dragged her girlfriend and daughter out of the watch tower in a fire ball. If she had just concentrated a little bit more she could have made the landing softer and not let them drop like an old wet towel. "Great Kahn your icy breath any chance you can help Sally with it? And she needs medical attention. Also Sekhmet needs to a once over. She will heal but still I want her to be checked over."

Sekhmet nodded sadly, sobbing as she looked at the injured Sally.

"I'm afraid my breath isn't much use for healing, quite the opposite," said Khan. "I do have healers. I will summon them."

"Yes do call them for Sally please." Jenny pulled Sekhmet into a tight hug. "It's alright. Mommy will get heal, I'll heal on my own and you are unharmed. And the best part we got the baddy with your help. You've done great kiddo."

Jenny wouldn't tell the little girl but she did not feel she deserved any atention of the healer but rather should heal slowly and painfully through her own powers.

The Khan nodded and hurried off.

"T-thanks Mama!" said Sekhmet starting to smile. "Will Mommy really be okay?"

"Of course she will be. You know the healers they fix Mommy in no time. And then we think of a fun way to end this day. Sorry the day of playing in the garden didn't work out as we planned." Jenny weakly smiled at the little girl.

"It's okay Mama! It.... it was scary but fun!" said Sekhmet. A figure in white robes came rushing over to Sally and knelt next to her. A second came over to Jenny.

"The Khan said you were injured?" the figure asked, her face hidden by a hood.
