Morrigan was getting tired already and they hadn't even figured out where they were headed. First it was Kansas, then it seemed like Mississippi. Everyone was emotionally wiped, she could feel it. Not for the first time, she looked over at the empty seat next to her and wished there was some sort of creature comfort keeping her company. She missed her horses, her dog, hell, even her mother's cooking. This wasn't like going off to college for the semester and heading home for the weekends. This was going off on a demon hunt with a bunch of people that weren't being totally honest with her.
Why the hell am I doing this? she asked herself. Do I have a death wish or something?
She turned on the radio again, but it was just the same old thing. Jackson, Mississippi. She speed dialled home, but her phone wasn't working. She picked up the phone and looked at the bars. She had service, but sure enough, the phone was dead.
She stuck her hand out the window with her phone, hoping that one of the other drivers might notice what she was attempting to ask.
