Memoirs of the Pharaohs

“You just notice this now? My version of fun is other’s version of danger.” Jenny giggled. “Yeah a private cave that would be nice, but one with a bed please. It is? The only magical transport I know is Aladdin and his magic carpet.”

"Mmmm, I think I like that," grinned Sally. "And sure, bed sounds good to me to" She thought for a moment. "I... think so? I'm not sure."

"You should not like danger so much you could get hurt or worse. I wouldn't know what to do if you get hurt." Jenny sounded shy. She had to force herself to think of anything else than Sally getting hurt and thought about the bed. "I want a bed that has a metal headboard and it should be big. I gonna spend a lot of time with you in it." Definitely a better thought. "A magic carpet would be nice it would mean we get faster somewhere. Are this people in the distance?" Jenny pointed to something moving, it could be anything the air itself was already flickering in the heat.

"I've been hurt before, you don;t have to worry," said Sally, but she was surprised at how quiet Jenny had become. "Are... you okay?" she asked just before Jenny brought up the bed, making her blush and giggle. "I would settle for any form of transport," she said as she looked where Jenny was pointing. "There's a dust cloud... whatever it is, it's moving fast.... and towards us."

“I’m fine, just getting used to caring for someone that won’t heal that quickly, I don’t even wanna imagine how I would feel if you get hurt.” It surprised Jenny how worried she got.


“So that means we are getting company.” Jenny set her jaw grim, this could go good or bad. She glanced at Sally, maybe she should go back in the cave where the other girl was safe. But Jenny knew wherever they were she needed Sally to figure out a way to get home. Jenny was so stressed and worried that she was smoking a little bit.

"I... I'll need to get used to... to someone caring about me," said Sally, her voice quiet yet joyful. In spite of the peril they were in, she felt elated. But she could tell Jenny wasn't feeling that was, her worry was getting the better of her. Sally took Jenny's hand and squeezed it tight. "You should no I'm not a fragile paper flower. We've been in enough fights to show you that."

Sally looked over to the dust cloud, covering her eyes from the sun's glare. "Chariots!" she exclaimed.

It's was hard not to worry about Sally. She knew that Sally was able to protect herself but the Jenny never had someone to protect not even Dirk or Mark. "Sorry i know you aren't a paper flower. I... I try to stop not sure I manage." A small smile appeared on her face when Sally took her hand again.

"Let the fun begin. How many bolts do toy have? And do you have any other weapons in your jacket."

Sally just smiled back. "Enough. And most of my bolts have a trick or two. And I don;t have any more weapons, but some other toys."

The chariots were starting to slow. "Maybe they don't mean to attack..." said Sally.

Jenny looked curious at the chariots arriving. "I don't like strangers, I distrust them, and no one likes me anyway. They don't trust me."

"I like you... and I.... trust you," said Sally. "I... I haven't trusted anyone else."

The charots pulled to a halt in a semi-circle on front of the girls, the riders dismounting. Then, to the girls surprise, they all knelt down and bowed as one.

Jenny was about to reply to Sally when the men knelt down in front of them. "Definitely not what I suspected. Is this normal custom before they attack?"

"Not as far as I know," said Sally confused.

The lead charioteer began speaking. "Noble Pharaohs, we are so relevaed to find you both well. When news of the raiders reached us we were worried, though of course no meer raiders would be a match for our Pharaohs."

Sally wasn't sure what was stranger, the fact he was calling them Pharaohs, or the fact he was speaking English

Jenny 's mouth dropped rather dumbly. "I know we hit our head and this is... A coma fantasy. In that case let's concentrate on being in a bedroom." Jenny held Sally's hand tightly no one would separate the other girl from her.

"I don't understand why they think we are pharaohs. Can girls even be pharaohs?"

"This can't be a coma... we're both here," said Sally, but she was thoughtful. "And... girls can be... but..."

"My Queens, are you well? You sound distressed," said the charioteer. "Maybe we should return to the city with haste?"

This was wrong on so many levels. Jenny was confused. "What do you want to do not sure we can fight them off all at once?" Jenny whispered that just Sally heard her.

"They... are offering to take us to a city. Maybe... we could find another book there," whispered Sally.

Jenny nodded. For the moment she would do anything Sally suggest Jenny didn't trust her own judgement. This was just too weird. "I'm not riding in a chariot without you. I don't think I like horses."

"I uh... I;ve never seen on in the flesh before," admitted Sally.

"There is space on my chariot for the three of us," the charioteer offered.

Jenny stared at the pretty hazel horse. "Definitely prefer them as horse power under a hood."

Jenny was incredibly suspicious of the situation what if it was a trick to catch them.

"Fine let's go then. I hope you know how to drive this thing."

It irritated Jenny that no one seemed to notice that she wasn't wearing any clothes.

Sally was wary, but the presence of Jenny calmed her as she got onto the chariot. As the charioteer whiped the horses to start them moving, Sally held on for dear life.

A wide grin spread across Jenny's face. "Maybe this is not so bad after all,  can it go any faster. I'm hungry." Jenny just made a decision they thought she and Sally were pharaohs that means she would act like one. "I also want some clothes but nothing scratchy. And something hot to drink."

Sally's face was a mix of fear and exciment as they thundered on.

"You wish to go faster? Of course my Queen!" replied the charioteer as he instructed the horses. "Once we reach the palace you will be able to reclothe and rest there."

"Palace? Nice. I don't need rest but plenty of food." Riding over the desert ground was not a smooth ride but Jenny did enjoy the speed. She leaned close to Sally's ear. "Imagen it smoother, without the guys and you got your request from last night. but I'm not involving the horse afterwards."

"We can have a feast prepared should you wish it," said the charioteer.

"I know!" grinned Sally, giggling at the horse comment. "If it was smoother I could.... really enjoy it!" she added with a wink.

Ahead, a city was fast coming into view, though the massive stone tower was still some distance away

"As long as the feast doesn't include any guests. I don't trust anyone with raiders on the loose."

Jenny's body was radiating more heat then the sun above them, she loved anything that included speed. She kisses Sally on the cheek. "I have so many ideas to make you blush again."
