DBSC Plot Discussions

Gnomes! A&G return, during their return party the Knights rick-roll Arthur and Killhwch shows up. Leon has met him before, and knows he's bad news. K gives Arthur a lawn gnome as a gift and K is knighted. Turns out the gnomes come to life when you aren't looking at them. Gnomes want to kill all the people with noble blood because they hunt forest creatures. Elyan, Percival, Lancelot, Gwen and Merlin are safe. Gwaine, Leon, and Arthur are not. The gnomes are made of clay and can be smashed, but can be put back together. The gnomes exact their revenge on the nobility by eating them! Arthur thinks they're hilarious and every time he sees one he buys it/takes it and has it put in his chambers.

Some things that need to happen in this story:

The Knights go off on a hunt or excursion with Sir K, and Arthur can find another gnome this way. K will push Leon into a thorn bush.

The prank war ensues between Gwaine and Merlin.

Galehaut speaks ill of Gwen and Gwaine challenges him to a duel. Before or after this, Gwaine hits on Galehaut for fun and Galehaut announces that he's gay.

Leon will get captured by the gnomes and almost cooked!

It is possible that in this episode Merlin finds out that Freya is stuck in the lake, and in the next episode he works on getting her out. Or that could all wait til the next episode.

Gareth and Gwarae were not going to show up until the next episode, but if we want them to, we could.

Leon could find out about Merlin's magic at the end of this episode, but more likely he will find out in the next episode (we will see).

I think I just made the scariest episode poster known to mankind...

1. Feast for Arthur
- Friday Knights sing "Never Gonna Give You Up"
- Arthur hates this song
- K shows up, reminisce
- Lancelot still in love with Gwen, but trying to see other people
- Lance shares problems with Galehaut, who we find out is OBVIOUSLY gay, (Lance is friends with him still)
- K knows about Merlin's magic: they will be great friends
- Arthur grants Gwaine and Leon their gifts/reward for Stewardship
- K gives Arthur and Gwen a gnome (they open all their presents later in the evening alone or with Merlin)
- Hint that gnomes move when you're not looking at them (the gnomes power increases as more of their brethren join them)

2. Hunting
- K pushes Leon in thorn bush
- Find another gnome, Arthur want
- Gwaine knows legend of gnomes and their danger: is instantly suspicious
- Prank war?
- Gwaine questions K, but K talks his way out of it ("Leon needs to be toughened up, right?")
- K muscles in on Merthur
- Merlin sneaks away to the lake, finds out Freya is alive but can't leave the lake: joy and angst!

3. Bar scene 1
- Galehaut is gay for Lancelot
- Gwaine tries to sleep with him, Galehaut slaps him
- Leon and Merlin, trying to ignore all this, exchange riddles. K shows up and guesses them
- Lance breaks up with chick
- Gwaine takes leftovers ("rebound sex!")
- Lancelot in a fit of passion goes and reads bad poetry to Gwen

4. Gwen and Arthur discuss Lancelot's brazen overtures
- Gwen initiates Operation: Hauttie and Lottie. This will take more time than getting Elaine and Leon together...
- Gnomes are creepy in the bedroom

5. Gnomes
- Arthur sends Merlin into lower town for more funny gnomes, creepy guy
- Merlin researches gnomes a bit from Gaius's library.
- Gnomes in different positions than he put them in the bag
- Leon (and Merlin?) walks in on gnomes eating some nobleman, is "attacked," smashes them
- Prank war?
- Elaine doesn't talk to Leon, Leon thinks she hates him with how he acted in the forest. She plots to get them locked in a room together.

6. Bar scene 2
- Friday Knights
- Galehaut bad-mouthing Gwen, everyone is upset by this
- Gwaine challenges him to a duel
- Gwen uses this duel as Operation: Hauttie and Lottie phase 1
- She gets Merlin, Leon, Gwaine in on it: Gwaine must make it look like he is going to kill Galehaut to evoke protective response from Lance
- Arthur gets ALL THE GNOMES!
- Gwaine enlists K's help in the prank war: wax bottoms of Merlin's shoes
- Merlin falls down stairs! which K thinks is funny, Gwaine is no longer friends with K, is v. sorry, swears off pranking

7. Duel
- Lance doesn't even show up! Gwaine has to stall, Galehaut actually pretty good
- Leon runs to find Lance, finds gnome shards being put together, gets caught by gnomes (possibly in the garden)
- Lancelot shows up, saves Galehaut as planned, finds out Galehaut's love for him <3 Sadly, does not return these feelings, but still buddies
- Gwaine, Merlin and Elaine run off to find Leon

8. Climax
- Don't blink.

9. End
- Gareth and Gwarae arrive
- Initially happy reunion, but with awkward cliffhanger
- Leon convinces Elaine to stay in Camelot while Bernard is gone, and they start courting (FINALLY!)
- Lance and Galehaut wrap-up. Sadly, Lance does not return Hottie's feelings, but they are still buddies. Gwen plots next move.
- Ominous K conclusion with the gnomes.

Some random ideas-

Between 1 and 2: Leon has a dream about Elaine. He can't sleep and gets up to find Gwaine is also up, and they chat. We find out that Leon is so nervous around Elaine because, like everything else, he is terrified that he will do something he regrets if he lets himself go. Meanwhile, Gwaine starts to remember his night with Morgana?

Leon begins with his worries. Gwaine follows with a "You think THAT'S bad?" and goes on to unintentionally give a whole slew of reasons why he should hate Morgana but why he finds her so sexy. Leon blinks. "I'm getting slightly concerned about you."

During the apple scene later, Leon is watching and asks, "are you becoming retarded?"


What's up Next:

TONIGHT: Leon sits with Elaine for a bit (so that K can see them together and make the connection), and gets all hot and bothered. Later that night when he can’t sleep he finds Gwaine, starts to try to put words to what he’s feeling when Gwaine goes “ARGH I HAVE S&M ISSUES” and punches a wall and breaks his hand. Leon asks if he’s ok, gets shouted at again, and they part a little on the grumpy side.
NEXT MORNING: Merlin arrives with Arthur and Gwen’s breakfasts (he spends a lot of time on it because its like their first official day back) only to discover that K has already made breakfast and they are all buddying it up. Merlin is ignored, and he makes the Emrys face. Gwen could sympathize a bit. Merlin also notices that the gnome does not look like it used to (didn’t it have its head turned to the right not the left or something). Arthur tells Merlin that after K gets introduced to the knights that they will go on a hunt. Merlin left feeling angry and confused. Later on, on the training field, Leon has to introduce K. Elaine as usual comes to watch training and K says something horrible and Leon freaks out. Maybe Merlin asks about Gwaine’s hand and the shouting of “I BROKE IT ON A WALL OK LEAVE ME ALONE” could happen here instead of last night with Leon. Galehaut sees them all getting their fighty faces on and Galehaut calms them down with his catchphrase: “what are you doing? What, what, what are you doing?” Everyone leaves Galehaut’s pep talk feeling a little better. There can be a chorus of "sorries" but when Galehaut tries to get a group hug they could all look at him funny and walk away. At which point Lancelot walks by and Galehaut hugs him and Lancelot is like "?"

PS: Arthur needs to knight Galehaut here.




Later Gwaine will rant to Leon about how much of a jerk K is while Leon is doing paperwork, while Leon says, "I told you he was bad news."

K randomly steals things--that is, he can get people to lend him things all the time: clothes, money, horses, pretty much anything he wants. He destroys his uniform (no really). He can control animals extremely easily.

3. there will be more pranks here. Possibly Merlin and Leon ask Gwaine why he likes K here as well.

HUNTING SCENE

Caity: Merlin sees K moving in on his best-friend action with Arthur as they get ready to go hunt. Maybe talk to Leon or Gwen here (Gwen and Elaine and maybe Mari and Cadi are coming along too, because, why not? Maybe K invites them). Merlin will pull a prank--most likely make his shoes too big (imagine him getting on and off his horse!)

BA: Crossbow skills, merits of hunting and finding the gnome. Some about Gwaine and shoe issues.

Mae: RXN to prank. Gwaine will express some reservations about the gnomes they find. Leon will actually believe Gwaine, since the gnomes are super creepy.

BA: Leon will see K abusing Diablo and go over to get that sorted, only to get pushed into the bushes.

Mae: Gwaine and K talk about getting Leon to toughen up plus allowing the lass to make some moves. Gwaine covers for Merlin as Merlin runs off (or not, considering how upset he is about the shoes).

Caity: Merlin will run off by himself, being left behind by the hunting or something, and comes across the old lake where Freya died. he's super sad until...

BA: There can be a nice shirtless scene here with Leon, and when Elaine moves in for the kiss he freaks and it will be adorable.

Caity: Merlin talks to Freya.

GNOMES

So we need to figure out their powers, and what they can do...

I figure that Merlin can use his magic to disintegrate them. But maybe whenever he casts a spell they can turn it off quickly after. So Merlin casts a light spell and they can cast a spell from the shadows to make it go out.

If you break them up by hand, other gnomes can come and put them back together. The more gnomes you have, the faster they can move and the more powerful they get.

Maybe they can control weather a tiny bit. Certainly plants and animals work for them.

GNOME SCENE:

Merlin: rxn to Gwaine’s prank, Arthur’s rxn to flour.
Leon: who is talking with Arthur about things, is trying to convince Arthur that gnomes are bad, Arthur claims it’s a not-so-urban legend and makes Leon accompany Merlin.
Gwaine: talks to Gwen about operation Hauttie/Lottie.
Leon/Merlin (several posts): talk while in the market, first maybe about riddles, then about family. Leon will share a bit about his crazy parents (who, shocker for the show, are both still alive and crotchety as all get out). Merlin will share a bit about his family until the subject turns to dads. Leon tells Merlin about his letter to reunite Gwaine with his little sibs. They buy some gnomes from a peasant who happens to be growing very large vegetables, and Leon's classism may show accidentally. Merlin invites Leon to do paperwork with him in the library or in Gaius’s apothecary. Leon does paperwork while Merlin reads up on gnomes.
Gwaine: saunters in, gets apple-pranked, storms off in a hilarious huff.
Merlin/Leon: they hear a noise or go to put the gnomes away and find dead guard and hungry gnome encounter ensues. Leon (and Merlin?) smash up the gnomes.
Gwaine: tells Arthur about the gnomes and dead guard, Arthur, upset that his gnomes were smashed but unable to ignore the dead guard, thinks sorcery is behind it all and locks up the the gnomes that were not smashed in a cupboard.

BA: lectures Gwaine on the dangers of pranking, gets him ready for his duel. Problem is, Lance is so mad he doesn't even show up!

Mae: Gwaine has to stall, Galehaut actually pretty good. Blames it on distraction.

Cait: Merlin finds gnomes rebuilding themselves, and/or discovers that the gnomes have escaped the trunk.

BA: Leon runs to find Lance, gets caught by gnomes (possibly in the garden)

Mae: Lancelot shows up, saves Galehaut as planned, finds out Galehaut's love for him <3

Cait: Gwaine, Merlin and Elaine run off to find Leon

GNOME BATTLE/DRUID MEET/SUCCESSFUL GNOME BATTLE HAPPENS

Maeglin approves

No one abuses power like our Maeglin. So here we go!

1. Lance and Galehaut wrap-up. Sadly, Lance does not return Hottie's feelings, but they are still buddies. Gwen plots next move. Possibly a Galehaut/Gwen scene that will probably go into the Galehaut Lancelot spinoff, so this could just be mentioned—Galehaut is suddenly friends with Lance and Gwen. (NPC)
2. Talk with Arthur. Perhaps all three are there, so Arthur can thank them for saving him and be funny and awkward and "well, damn, I guess you were right." Maybe K is watching this scene sneakily and then leaves? (?)
3. Leon convinces Elaine to stay in Camelot while Bernard is gone, and they start courting (BA)
4. Merlin meets with Freya again? (Cait)
5. Gareth and Gwarae arrive (BA). Initially happy reunion, but with awkward cliffhanger (Maeg).
6. Ominous K conclusion where he goes and says "hi" to Morgana. Like the good old days with Agravaine, but less creepy, and we learn for a fact that K's evil. (NPC)
