Yes, sounds like a good plan to me. I let Lizzie jump in before Marianne hits her sister! Wink

So! Do you want to come up with the idea for Fight Club? Elinor will be skeptical at first, but then in my post I'll talk about her inventing the rules.

Yes, sounds like a good idea. Lizzie comes up with the idea, and Elinor comes up with the rules. Wink

ok! I posted! So Elinor is totally freaked that she has to fight too, and generally holds back the first time she does so. She didn't think that *she* would have to fight! Razz do you want to start off our first fight meeting, Miss A??

What do you think about having Wickham accidentally find out about Fight Society and join? He could be the "token boy" of Fight Society. Maybe someone like Liz fights him once but everyone thinks he's too hot to beat up, so most of the time he just hangs around flirting and whatnot. I think it would be pretty hilarious to reverse the "token girl" archetype for a boy, and then Wickham could maybe be the one that accidentally outs Fight Society to the "authorities." What do you think?

Mr. Darcy

Jane Austen Fight Club: Discussions - Page 2 Mr-Darcy-looking-for-matthew-macfadyen-as-mr-darcy-27947631-261-306

Gentleman of noble birth, who appears to be rather proud and distant at first. He doesn’t show many feelings, or any feelings at all for that matter, except the raising of his eyebrow when something bothers him. He judges people too quickly and has a hard time trusting others. He is in fact very shy, but his shyness is often misinterpreted as arrogance, thus doesn’t make him look particularly charming.

Haha, yes, Mr Wickham’s description is perfect! He’s quite the lady’s man, isn’t he? Wink I wonder who of the gentleman turns out to be a real badass! Razz

Btw, I wasn't quite sure if I was able to add anything to your post, I think I'm not, so I posted Mr Darcy individually, unless you know how to add it to your post.

OH! hmmm I think you'd have to be a moderator for this thread... Sorry, I'll see if I can do that, or we can just leave it. Aww Darcy is so cute... <3

Anyway, I've got major writers-block for what to write next...what do you think? What's the next thing to do? I mean, Elinor could react to her first night at Fight Club. At some point I think it would be funny to have Wickham find out about the Society and insist on joining (being the token boy in the group that everyone hits on, since he's so hot), so that could come soon-ish (I think I posted that earlier but I can't remember if you said it was ok!)

But I think some other stuff needs to happen before that, but I don't know what! Suggestions? Comments? Elinor needs to beef up...I'm imagining some scenes like in the Karate kid where she's balancing on a boat and stuff Razz

MissAusten

MissAusten

I definitely like the idea that Wickham finds out about the Society and wants to join. I can only imagine that some of the ladies lack in serious focus as soon as he joins, and Lizzie won’t be all too happy about it… Wink

As for what to do now, I think it would be funny if Elinor and Lizzie have some ‘training sessions’ together, just the two of them, where Elinor is expected to do all kinds of stuff, like you mentioned before, balancing on a boat, balancing books on her head…just kidding! But something to get Elinor ‘into shape’ or whatever you might call it, so that she’s some kind of invincible superhuman of the 18th century…or well, just knows how to fight. Wink

LOL all this is making me think of is Mulan and that "I'll Make a Man out of You" Song...that's a great idea! I'll get writing right away.

As a sidenote (though I may want to start introducing this soon-ish) I want to draw a dichotomy between how Elinor views the merits of Fight Society as opposed to how Lizzie sees it. Tell me what you think: I'm thinking that Lizzie is using Fight Club to kind of prove herself (especially to Darcy), and kind of prove that she won't be passive about things anymore. Elinor, on the other hand, is kind of "releasing the beast" in that she uses Fight Club to discover this other part of herself that she has had to repress...which is weird since she's probably better for Edward Ferrars before she gets all BAMF. Her eventual fight over Edward with Lucy Steele will be proving to herself that she deserves to have Edward if she is willing to fight for him. So I guess there's a difference between them--Lizzie must show that she won't be messed with, while Elinor's journey is more internalized....What do you think of that?

Sorry, rambles. I'll post soon! Very Happy

MissAusten

MissAusten

Haha, yes, I was thinking of Mulan as well!
Maybe Elinor can learn how to juggle tea cups while balancing on a tiny rope. Razz Just kidding
I think you’re absolutely right about the different viewpoints of both Elinor and Lizzie. Lizzie definitely wants to prove to men like Darcy (or Darcy in particular, for that matter) what she’s capable of while Elinor finally has an opportunity to let her feelings out. Haha, fight over Edward…now I picture a scene where Elinor takes on that annoying Lucy Steele and throws her against a wall or something. And, of course, Lucy’s hair will get all messed up. Wink

beeayy

beeayy

of course! I definitely think juggling teacups will be cool Razz Also Maeglin has plans of joining as Lucy Steele when we get to that point, so that should be fun!

beeayy

beeayy

haha! I forgot I made a separate thread for the NPCs, so I moved my post over. Sorry!

MissAusten

MissAusten

Yay, I like it! Very Happy You know what we actually need? Some really annoying, evil bitches (pardon my language). Like a group of very snobby girls who think they are better than the rest, so it's not only the dear gentlemen that our ladies get upset with.

beeayy

beeayy

haha for some reason I heard this and thought of Darcy and Lizzie--you know that scene where they are all awkward at Pemberley? XD

MissAusten

MissAusten

Haha, yes, the lyrics totally fit! Very Happy I love how awkward those two are...

beeayy

beeayy

Oh! yes and about the snobby chicks. We can have a posse made up of Caroline Bingley and Lucy Steele (who Megan will be)!
